NSPCC launch new campaign in response to an increasing number of young people seeking support due to suicidal thoughts

NSPCC Cymru have reported a rise in the number of children in Wales receiving counselling for suicidal thoughts and feelings, with the number rising more than a third (38%) in four years. Between 2018 and 2019, a total of 850 young people from Wales received help from the charity's free Childline service, struggling with thoughts of suicide. This is up from 614 in 2015/16. Most of those reaching out were teenagers, but there has also been an 87% in children under 11 across the UK receiving help since 2015/16. In response to these worrying statistics, the NSPCC has launched a new campaign called - KIDS In Real Life - urging the public to help save a child's life, in real life
