University entrance

There has been a 2.6% rise in young people from Wales enrolling at UK universities and a 9.2% increase in postgraduates from Wales say figures published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency. The increase from 96,780 Wales-based students enrolling in 2018/19 to 99,310 puts an end to a six year decline in numbers. The Welsh Government has been reforming student finance in Wales, including an increase in the amount of total support available to Œ£17,000 and a move to help students with their day-to-day living costs, rather than just for tuition fees. The reforms also include improved support for Masteräó»s students, in hopes to make post-graduate studies more accessible.
