Young Wales is a Children in Wales initiative funded by Welsh Government. We are about listening to young people and empowering their voices. Our work is built on the ideas of sharing, informing and changing policy and practice.
Young Wales is recruiting young volunteers (11-25 years) to be a part of a range of opportunities throughout the year. Young Wales is committed to represent the diversity of young people in Wales and welcomes applications from all young people to get involved.
What will I be doing?
As a young volunteer, you will be invited to attend an induction residential weekend (April 28th- May 1st South Wales) where you will take part in activities, learn about children’s rights and be given the opportunity to have your say on issues that might affect you. There will also be opportunities to attend further residential weekends (July 27th – 29th West Wales, October 2nd – 4th 2023 North Wales, February 15th – 17th 2024, Mid Wales) where you will be learning new skills and giving your opinions on issues that are presented to you. If you are unable to attend these residentials, you can still volunteer with us and throughout the year, you will also be invited to take part in consultations and projects and there will be opportunities to volunteer in person or online.
All accommodation, transport and food will be provided at the residential weekends; we can’t however, guarantee that individual bedrooms will be provided and sharing may be required.
