We’re pleased to announce that Children in Wales have re-launched the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Children (APPG), providing an opportunity for Welsh Members of Parliament and Peers to join together to pursue a topic or interest as it related to babies, children and young people in Wales. The APPG is open to Members of both Houses, regardless of party affiliation, enabling parliamentarians to engage with experts and organisations outside Parliament who can provide expert contributions to inform the subject matter of their Group
At the inaugural meeting held on the 5th February 2025, Gill German MP (Labour, Clwyd North) was elected as Chair, with Ann Davies (Plaid Cymru, Caerfyrddin), Andrew Ranger (Labour, Wrexham) and Lord Davies of Gower (Conservative) elected as Officers.
The APPG are presently identifying their priorities, with Children in Wales providing the secretariat function. Further information will be posted here - Children in Wales | All Party Parliamentary Group on Children in Wales.
Alongside our Cross-Party Group on Children and Families in the Senedd, the APPG in Westminster will provide politicians in both institutions the opportunity to be better informed on the priorities and issues for children, their families and the organisations which support them.
