Supervision: A model for practice

Two-day course Our capacity to collaborate with others is, in part, influenced by the quality of support and oversight we receive. Participants will be equipped to systematically connect the identification of training and supervision requirements, support mechanisms, and performance evaluations into a cohesive framework that benefits both the individual and the organisation. Upon completion of the course, participants will comprehend the significance of supervision within an organisational framework. They will recognise the various components and functions of supervision, employ engagement skills to foster a supportive relationship that facilitates the supervision process, and learn how to cultivate an environment conducive to safe, challenging, exploratory, reflective, and analytical discussions while prioritising the well-being of staff members. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice the skills necessary for both providing and receiving reflective supervision. They will gain insight into the risks and implications associated with the supervision process, as well as the responsibilities of supervisors. Additionally, they will understand the obligations of supervisees and clarify their roles in enhancing the effectiveness of supervision. Consideration will also be given to the dynamics within integrated teams. This course is intended for individuals tasked with the supervision of other staff members.
