Volunteering

Become a volunteer with Young Wales

Are you aged 11-25 years old, and interested in having your voice heard by decision-makers? Do you want a platform to share your thoughts on social issues that you are passionate about? Do you want to make new friends, whilst making a difference to a cause that matters to you? You can do all that and more when you volunteer with the Young Wales programme!

Feb Resi 2024

Working with Welsh Government and organisations across Wales, Young Wales provide opportunities for young people to be involved in social action, and influence decision-making on a local and national level.

Through our different consultations, boards and groups, you can develop your skill-sets and share your thoughts on topics that matter to you. You don’t need to have experience, and there’s no fees to volunteer. We’re just looking for enthusiastic young people who want to get involved and use their voice to make a difference.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is at the heart of the work carried out by Young Wales, and we want young people to know their rights! Our goal at Young Wales is to reflect UNCRC Article 12 – the right for young people to have opinions, and for these opinions to be heard, and taken seriously. Young people’s voices are powerful, and Young Wales want to help provide a platform for your views to get heard!

So, how do we do this?

The Young Wales team works hard to create amazing opportunities for young people to get involved in, all year round. Here’s some examples of what you could get up to as a Young Wales volunteer.
