National Parenting Week 2026: Making Connections

Monday 19 – Friday 23 October 2026

Parents Connect Wales will join families across Wales to celebrate National Parenting Week 2026, taking place from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October.

This year’s theme, “Making Connections”, highlights the importance of connection in family life and encourages parents and carers to get involved, connect with others, discover support, spend quality time together and and celebrate the relationships that matter most.

What is National Parenting Week?

National Parenting Week celebrates, supports and raises awareness of the vital role that parents and carers play in shaping children’s lives.

Throughout the week, Parents Connect Wales will:

  • Highlight the challenges parents face
  • Amplify parents’ voices
  • Promote access to support, advice and resources for families
  • Encourage meaningful connections between families, communities and support services

This week provides an opportunity to celebrate and support parents and carers, raise awareness of the realities of parenting, and showcase the support available to families across Wales.

Parents Connect Wales

Led by Children in Wales and funded by the Welsh Government, Parents Connect Wales gives parents and carers across Wales a voice in shaping the policies and services that affect families.

Parents and carers have told us they want to:

  • Feel valued for their lived experiences
  • Be involved early in decision-making, not as a tick-box exercise
  • Receive feedback on how their views have influenced change

By listening to parents and carers, we can help create high-quality services that strengthen families and ensure that children’s rights are respected and fulfilled.

Get Involved

This Parenting Week, we're inviting parents, carers, organisations and communities to make a Connection Pledge - a simple commitment to connect with someone during the week.

Whether it's reaching out to another parent, joining a local group, spending time together as a family or supporting someone who may need it, every connection counts.

Share your pledge by emailing parentsconnect@childreninwales.org.uk or posting on social media using:
