Children in Wales is delighted to be working in partnership with Transport for Wales to support the development of its first-ever Young Persons Advisory Panel.
Building on our expertise in youth participation and rights-based engagement, Children in Wales is supporting the recruitment of young people aged 16-21 from across Wales to join the panel and help ensure that young people's voices are heard in decisions about the future of transport.
The new panel forms part of a wider collaboration between Children in Wales and Transport for Wales, aimed at embedding young people's experiences and perspectives into transport services and policy. By bringing together a diverse group of young people from different backgrounds and communities, the panel will create a dedicated space for young people to share their views and influence change.
Panel members will have the opportunity to work directly with transport decision-makers, helping to shape services that are safe, accessible, sustainable and responsive to the needs of young people across Wales.
What will the Young Persons Advisory Panel do?
Members of the panel will:
- Meet and influence transport decision makers
- Participate in four meetings spread over a year, online and in person
- Join key transport events and consultations
- Help us tackle barriers to greener transport
This is an exciting opportunity for young people to make a real difference by sharing their ideas, experiences and insights, helping to improve transport for current and future generations.
